I just signed up for decent health insurance. The nurse will be here this Friday for a physical. I have not smoked Cigarretes in 5 years or used nicotine products. I do on occasion relax with smoking a joint here and there. Will that show up on any tests or will that affect my health insurance policy

  5. It depends on the company and where to live, but in most cases you will be rated at a smokers rates.  If you smoke a lot, you may recieve a rating for a higher amount.

Most companies test for a nicotine by product known as cotinine.  Cotinine is found when someone uses almost any tobacco product (chew, cigarettes, cigarillos, cigars, nicorette, weed, etc).

Whether it will show up or not, depends on how long ago you last smoked up before the test was done.
