Can snowboard wax dry up?

My brother says snowboard wax can dry up. If so, what is the minimum amount of time snowboard wax will dry up?

ya bro it does it can affect your speed a bit i try to do mine every two months and some of my friends think im slacking. you snow the apearance of a freshly waxed board nice smooth but when your board wax begins to get the white scratches through it is a sighn of it dryin depends on how dry the wax is but sometimes it can slow you down tons.

I have not waxed my board since i got it last season. I have probably used it about 70 or 80 times and it is starting to get kind of dried out. I think as long as you wax it atleast once or twice a year it shouldnt dry out at all.
