Can society with survive with so many ignorant people that have overpopulated the world in the last 40 yrs.?

I'm apt to think the last 40 is just your personal experience and not a factor calculated scientifically.

The reality is there's probably less ignorant people today than in years/centuries prior.  The only difference is now we can comprehend and calculate the end result of overpopulating this small planet.

Ultimately I'm not sure we have a choice but to find a way to survive.  Society adapts. Always...until they can't...then they die.

I think some power-hungry people at the top actually encourage ignorant people to reproduce in the hopes of "controlling" their offspring  in the future. I'm not certain of the right answer but   personally i think society will  survive.............. but with lots and lots of pain along the way---unfortunately.

Pretty scary, isn't it? In the good old days, people with low intelligence, mental illness, etc. were locked away or sterilized. Now they're allowed to run free and procreate with each other. God help us all.

Of course. If we were all brilliant there would be no one to do menial chores that don't require intelligence.This also explains cultural stratification. It is perfectly natural and not the result of being "kept down" by the successful.

The question is meaningless. While primary and secondary schooling can be pretty bad these days, educational attainment is widespread and college participation is still growing. The percentage of college-educated individuals is probably higher than its ever been.

I believe that what you think of as "ignorance" may actually be "incivility". In addition, the Internet and cable TV and so on highlight whatever examples of extreme ignorance and stupidity, making them seem more widespread than they really are.

I believe there are less ignorant people in the world today than there were centuries ago. We have imroved drastically compared to them.

The people today are just as ignorant as the people in the last 40 years, if not a little less. We learn from our parents and they learn from theirs. Of course, over time we change our ideals as society makes changes too.

Now, today people have become more "loose" and say what they want. They'll act ignorant and wild, while thinking nothing of it. They'll be in your face. Some girls these days are getting more promiscuos too. Could it also be because in the early 20th century, people weren't as open about these issues? Everything back then was more "hush" about these things. We couldn't have changed too much
