  1. He is on

    (click on "advanced search")

If it is worth $27 to you, you can buy a copy of his SSN application, which will have his parents' names.

I looked in the 1910 census. There were no entries for Henry Jeffers b 1901 (+/- 2)  in it. These three were close, and enumerators are not perfect:

(Name, parents' names, residence, approx birth date, birth place, relation to H of H)

    Henry Jefferson  [none]

Meriwether, Edgefield, SC abt 1901 South Carolina Adopted Son

    Henry Jefferson James, Mary

Easley, Pickens, SC abt 1903 South Carolina Son

    Henry Jefferson Jessie, Rebecca

Center, Richland, SC abt 1901 South Carolina Son

The town of Kershaw is in Lancaster County.

There are no people named Jeffers, of any given name, b. 1901 (+/- 5) in Lancaster County at all on the 1910.

I struck out in 1920, too.

    In 1930 I mis-typed and found

1930; Census Place: Wateree, Kershaw, South Carolina; Roll: 2202; Page: 16A; Enumeration District: 26; Image: 872.0.

    Hallie T Jeffers 38

    Kate Jeffers 41

    Henry T Jeffers 18

    Lucy M Jeffers 16

    Willie E Jeffers 13

This Henry is 10 years too young, and his father "Halley" is 10 years too old, but the name and the county name match what you wrote, if you meant Kershaw County. (99% of the people here use town, state instead of town, county, state.)

  2. try looking in your county library in the microfilm (fiche) section where the census data is kept, any one and every one who was residing in that locale should be listed in that roster,  be aware that it was common to intentionally mis-spell last names and also to spell them backwards to evade the tax man and for purposes of draft evasion.  in the case of the name jeffers, add the last two or three letters --ON or ONS to what you seek  be patient, and write every thing down as you find it, individual items of themselves may not mean anything, but as a larger group, they mean alot good luck

  3. Do you know any of his siblings names?

Could he have been born somewhere besides SC?
