And definitely get the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" - it is an AWESOME book and includes a ton of information on charting and how to interpret those charts.

The basic principle is that you take your basal body temp each morning (before you even get out of bed), chart that over a period of time, and eventually will hopefully see a pattern indicating when ovulation occurs and you can use that to aid your timing in future cycles.
