Here's an easy way for you to figure it out!

Say your odds are listed like this "7/8", you simply treat the "/" as a 'division sign' and divide 7 by 8 to get 0.875 You just take how much you want to bet and multiply it by the 0.875 to get your profit. So if you were to wager 10 quid on odds of 7/8 then you would win 8.75 plus your original wager amount of 10 for a total amount of 18.75 quid.

Another example:

11/1 = 11

Wager amount = 10

10 x 11 = 110

110 + 10(wager amount) = 120 total return

20/1 is the odds of that team winning. If you bet £1 you will get £20 back, plus your original stake. In football the odds very rarely change before a game, whereas, in horse racing the odds often change right up to the start of the race.

e.g. 47% of matches in the premier this season have resulted in home wins 27% draws

and 26% in away wins.

So pick a home team you fancy to win.

you can even back the home win and the draw ,that's called dutching, and would give you a 74% statistical chance of winning .you can do a search for a "dutching calculator" to work out your stake and return.

If backing horses stick to the favourites in novice and maiden races to start with ,until you know what your doing ,as these are the favourites that win most often.

To get better value use onlne betting exchanges such as Betfair and Betdaq where you will get a bigger return.
