ok guys i need help i just got a new laptop and i wanted to play age of empire 3 on it but i have:

Intel Duo core:1.8ghz

video card is: Mobile Intel 965 express chipset family (385) shared memory.

and 2 gb memory

and i dont know whats the problem and i installed the latest drivers of my video card but in the list of age of empire 3 video cards that don't support it are other intel graphics then mines i dont know when i start the game it sayes that Direct 3d not propeply installed i have windows vista home premium any help i will realy thanx you

good evening - you say you just got your new computer and you are running vista home  i would first of all go to microsoft update  - that is in control panel and on starup menu the icon with the world with the microsoft flag  - and download all the up dates it will also give the correct directx file you need       good luck  miktill

Read the side of the box that the game came in; if you dont meet the minimum system requirements, your game is not going to work.

Try swapping the graphics card and see what happens; it sounds like the rest of your system can handle it except the graphics.

person above is correct the direct 3d error you are getting indicates the card is unable to handle the game. You will need to upgrade your gfx card before you can play it =(,
