I just got a new HP TX2510US, the new tablet PC from HP. For some reason I can't seem to download regular files with out the internet going out. Even for a file that is about 5MB, it stops downloading half way through and I have to disconnect and reconnect my router. I can't seem to do anything with it. Also if it helps it has a 802.11 a/b/g/draft-n Wi-Fi Adapter. I would REALLY appreciate any help. Step by step instructions would really help since I am not too computer literate. THANKS!

  1. Try updating your wifi adaptor and I know that its a new tablet but it might still need to be updated. You can do this thru HP. Just look for an update for wireless adaptor. You also might try the windows update it also might work.

  2. Do you have DSL, cable internet, or Fios? Cable and Fios are a much more stable connection for your wireless router. Verizon provides a wireless router that's standard with their Fios service and is optional with their DSL service. Cable companies offer a wireless network option but a wired modem is their standard. DSL is prone to dropping off, especially if you are far from the phone company's central hub. Fios is a relatively new service but it is very reliable and very fast. Cable is pretty reliable and most wireless routers work well with the modem. A wired connection to any modem is going to be your fastest option. It's possible that your routers firmware is out of date, it also depends on how old your router is. I can give you more instructions but I need to know your type of internet service and whether your modem is wired with a separate router or an all in one wireless unit.
