  1. -4(3 - x) = 2(x + 6)

    -12 + 4x = 2x + 12

    Add +12 to both sides of the equation and we get:

    +4x = 2x + 24

    Add -2x to both sides of the equation and we get:

    2x = 24

    Divide each side by 2

    x = 12

  2. x = 12, thats an easy one.

  3. -12 + 4x = 2x + 12

    4x - 2x = 12 + 12

    2x = 24

    x = 12

  4. -4(3-x) = 2(x+6)

    -12 + 4x = 2x + 12

    2x = 24

    x = 12

  5. x = 12

  6. -4(3 - x) = 2(x + 6)

    -12 + 4x = 2x + 12

    +12                 +12

    ------------------------------

    4x = 2x + 24

    -2x   -2x

    -------------------

    2x = 24

    = (divide 2 by 2 and 24 by 2)

    x=12 <---- answer
