Can some one tell me why they say the army is so good and Why are so many people goin into that branch ?

take the incentives why do they give so much money to join for sum jobs..Why are they the biggest branch ...i also heard the army boot camp they don't yell at u ...

Most people join the Army to serve their country, but they do give out some very big bonuses.  The military as a whole has had trouble with recruiting, especially the Army due to their size.  They're the largest branch because they're an occupational force, i.e. the Marines land first, take the beach head, then the Army takes over.  By the way, the Army is NOT the oldest branch.  The Marine Corps was founded on November 10, 1775, making it older than our country.

People who tell you the Army is so good,  are either lying, or have never served, or never witnessed the OTHER branches.  (Air Force, Navy, etc)   All Branches give out incentives for certain jobs....bonuses for re-enlisting----depends on the job. (rate)    Naturally, idiots are made cooks and whatnot and are a dime a dozen.....so no bonuses..........but if you qualify for Nuclear school....or air controller......or something like that.......bonuses can be pretty sweet.

I imagine more people join the Army, because they need more cannon fodder, than say, the Navy or Air Force......

and not to be insulting...... but the fact of the matter is.......some branches have higher standards than others.

It is generally accepted, that if you fail to qualify for the Air Force or NAVY, The Army will welcome you with open arms.

All of the branches are there for a reason.  The Army has a huge mission, world wide. We have Soldiers in Korea, Europe, Alaska, Iraq, Afghanistan and of course, all over the U.S.  The Navy protects sea lanes world wide and can project force in a timely manner. They also provide sea-lift to all branches  The Marines provide ground support to the Navy's mission, and go anywhere, anytime to quell trouble.  The Air force controls airspace that we need.  They also provide airlift to all branches.

The Army offers incentives to enlist, because not enough folks are ponying up to fill the ranks.  If you are considering enlisting, play the recruiters against each other, get the best deal you can.  It's your life.

My friends in the Smokey Bear hats never yell..........Sometimes they will speak in a loud, profuse, military manner....but yell...no way!

They give bonuses because they need to fill in the spots where they need people.

They are the biggest because they are the oldest and in my opinion the best.

They do yell at you at boot camp. People who say that are trying to downplay the army.

The Army National Guard is the oldest militia. It originated in 1636.
