Can somebody explain pbf's weeaboo comic to me?

i know what a weeaboo is, but i just don't get the comic. why are they beating the guy with paddles because he said weeaboo? the word weeaboo doesn't even make sense in the sentence that the guy with glasses uses it in. am i just overthinking it or is it confusing?

You say you know what it is, but what you probably don't know is that the PBF comic existed *before* the common definition.

PBF invented the word seemingly randomly, 4chan later used it as a filter for the word "wapanese".  As a result, weeaboo now means wapanese.  It's a derogatory term, yet most people I know consider it to be less offensive and I have on occasion (i.e. cons) seen people using the word in a neutral or occasionally affectionate context.
