  1. You need to pick another subject.  The prisoners get way more rights than prisoners in our own jails and they still complain.  It looks so bad because the liberal media tries to demonize us and make the terrorists look like victims even though some of them are locked up right now for murdering Americans.

  2. Yahoo Answers is almost certainly the wrong place to find accurate information on the topic. Too many folks here never met an illegal detention they didn't like.

Type the word "Guantanamo" into your favorite search engine and take it from there.

  3. All jails are oppressive. Gitmo is a military jail.  Up the ante.  The people there are supposed insurgents and terrorists.  Research The Hague, in Belgium on search Yahoo Web.

  4. You picked the wrong place.  The prisoners have attorneys, prayer rights, tv, exercise equip., religous appropriate food, etc.  Maybe you should pick a POW like McCain.

  5. there is no oppression...those are bad people that deserve what they are getting!

if it was up to me they would be judge by the military tribunal and executed right away!

jess.... we in the military live with that tribunal and it is ok...

    man....

  6. The average prisoner gained more than 20 pounds on the good chow they are provided.  The ignorant ones are taught to read and write.  They plan soccer and some are even allowed to swim in the ocean.  One, from Yemen, begged not to be sent back when we tried to release him.

*********A good paper on oppression could be written about contract workers, from the 3rd world (Philippines, Thailand, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, etc...) employed in places like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.  They suffer every abuse imaginable, and some you might not imagine, for wages as low as $200 and $300 a month.
