Can somebody explain to me the Sub-disciplines in the major "electrical engineer"?

i want to major in electrical engineer(E.E); However, there are too many sub-fields in E.E to study, so i need the information. Please, help. Thanks a million

  1. I had the same problem when I was in your shoes. So I looked into what each field says and it's applications here let me break it down to you.

    electromagnetics - Is useful in antenna, radar and communications design

    RF - is just like electromagnetics

    Image Processing - Has many applications from facial recognition software, geographical surveying, digital picture restoration and tons of uses for defense everything from guiding missiles to relaying intelligence

    Power - Everything uses power to run from cars to aircrafts, it's not just  power plants anymore, there are also medical uses for this field

    signal processing - signal could mean anything from music to any information sent electronically, audio filtering (music), audio restoration (FBI), the CIA  and NSA use this field very intensively,  also the military uses this for anti-submarine warfare (acoustics)

    There are always more to fields, but those are the ones I researched the when I was in college. Hope this helps some.
