Can somebody explain to me why teaching is in the same category as trivia?

I know teaching is under education and reference, I just think it's a bit off to put trivia in the same category.

It isn't. It's under the same main heading of education, but there are separate categories of teaching and trivia.

Some of the most fascinating things you will ever hear come under the category of trivia. It is here because it teaches us things. I like it here because lots of peple who are looking in education get here and it makes it much more satisfying when there is some intellectual activity happening here.
