Can somebody explain what is the difference between polarised and non polarised logic input?

  1. non-polarized example:

    TTL: logic0= +0.5 Volts, logic1= +2.5V

    both '0' and '1' are positive voltage

    example:

    NECL: logic0 = -2.0Volts, logic1=-0.2Volts

    both '0' and '1' are negative voltages

    polarized example:

    AMI (alternate mark inversion).

    '1s' are alternately +10 volts and -10 volts

    The difference is that polarized logic uses both + and - voltages, whereas non-polarized logic uses only unipolar voltages (but it can be either all + or all -)
