Can somebody help me fix my DirecTV receiver?

I checked to make sure it's plugged in, I reset the box, but still there's no "searching for signal" message, no lights--absolutely nothing at all. What can be done to rectify the problem?

Try unplugging and plugging back in - make sure you have power to that outlet (you should be using a surge protector with a light indicator).  It could be a circuit breaker (or fuse) in your electrical box.
