I am fourteen and need some babysitting jobs. I am going to create a flyer to advertise my babysitting. I am certified, but have barely any experience. I am very good with kids though. Can people give me ideas of what to put on my flyer? Thanks!

  1. You can also advertise in local newspapers. Make sure you state your qualifications. “Red Cross trained, experienced, 16 year old female babysitter available days, evenings, and overnights. When you can’t be there yourself, I’m the next best thing.”

If you are serious about your babysitting business, make flyers on your computer and post them around the neighborhood. You can even mail or email flyers to potential clients as long as you include a brief personal note to avoid the appearance of spam. (”Dear Mr. and Ms. Smith, Just wanted to let you know I’m expanding my babysitting business and would love to have you and the twins as clients. I’ve enclosed a flyer with more information about my qualifications and rates. Look forward to hearing from you soon.”) Be sure to list your strong points on the flyer. You might even consider asking established clients for testimonials. (”I don’t know how I got along before we hired Brenda!”)

That site should tell you everything you need to know about starting a babysitting business. But since you don't have much experience you could just change a few words in the paragraph to make it apply to you.

I hope this helps you and good luck with babysitting.

  2. If you have babysat before ask the parents if you could use them as a reference. Obviously you're going to put that you are satisfied. If you don't have a set pay rate, state that it is negotiable and maybe the days/hours you would be available. A lot of parents like to do an "interview" type of thing before they hire someone, so be prepared.  Good luck to you!
