Can somebody help me with a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson?

Question

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies with in us.

If you could help me analyze what that quote means that'd be great. I have my own thoughts and would like to know what you ladies/guys think. Btw, I was thinking of putting that somewhere as a birthday gift to a girlfriend, is that appropiate? And if you could rate it 1-10. please.

Ralph Waldo Emerson  (American Poet, Lecturer and Essayist, 1803-1882)

Emerson was a great thinker and a poet laureate of America.

If one broods over what has happened good or bad in the past, ontend s to remain there. It is indeed better to look forward, and move forward. However , even that is not sufficient, because moving forward on the same plane does not lead us to the depth and the heights of the soul-spaces. the hidden truth, the beauty , the bliss and the love are far beyond our surface day to day and hum-drum personality. The inner-spaces the soul-spaces are the hidden reality of our true being.

I believe it is a very apt quotation for your love. I hope, and honestly wish you both discover this pure and true fountain of love, taking you above , high in the regions of your psychic being, casting away all your physical and vital attachments for each other.
