I have been trying to add songs to my ipod from a cd that i own. I have been importing the songs on the cd to the itunes library and it works. Then when it comes time for me to update my ipod it says "Attempting to copy the disk to "Taylor's IPOD" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to." Can anybody help me or give me tips to make this work.

  1. iTunes is the most stupid and rigid software I ever came across.

That message seems like your iPod might be full? Since there is no protection against writing/deleting on iPod (like there is on every tape, or old floppy disc).

So, look at the "home page" of your iPod - there is a bar graph of the full/empty space.

Also, it is good to check (on the same home page) "manual sync" rather than auto sync. The manual lets you move songs as you want them, the autosync could cause a lots of trouble if you changing the music in your computer, it will change in the iPod as well even if you do not want it...

Alternatively, if that doesn't work, try 3rd party software like Media Monkey which is free and load iPod easier than iTunes (although current version is music only, for loading videos, you still need iTunes)

    Good luck
