Can somebody please explain what a Political Action Committee (PAC) is to me?

The National Rifle Association is a PAC.

A political action committee normally is used to fund raise money for candidates, in hopes that their views will be heard when the candidate gets into office.

Example: Green Power, raises money for thee Green party.
