NAPLES: Officials with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Collier County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25 "criminal aliens" and "documented street gang members" after a two-day enforcement operation that targeted those two groups in the Naples area.

On August 28 and 29, teams of ICE agents and deputies from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office arrested the 25 individuals for immigration violations.

Officials with ICE say of the people they arrested, two were identified as documented gang members affiliated with the "La Raza" and "Sur 13" gangs and one was a registered s*x offender.

Some of the other criminal histories associated with these individuals include:

Battery

Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon

Felony drug trafficking

Burglary

Felony drug possession

Carrying a concealed firearm

Battery on a law enforcement officer

All of the people that were arrested are currently being held in ICE custody pending their deportation proceedings.

ICE officials added that two of the illegal immigrants that were arrested were holding a firearm and could soon face federal criminal charges.

They say the people arrested are all from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Colombia, Haiti, Bahamas, St. Lucia or Suriname.

Right now, ICE has only released four names of the 25 people that were arrested. Those include:

Emanuel Alce, 28, is a Bahamian national. He was ordered removed by an immigration judge in January 2008 based on being in the country illegally.

Woodley Delva, 22, is a Haitian national. He could be deported based on a prior criminal conviction for lewd and lascivious battery. He is also a registered sexual offender in the State of Florida.

Julio Ledezma-Vasquez, 40, is a Mexican national. He could be deported because of a prior criminal conviction for trafficking cocaine and is currently on Florida state probation.

Francisco Francisco, 38, is a Guatemalan national. He could be deported because of an aggravated felony criminal conviction for Sale/Delivery/Manufacturing of a controlled substance and possession with intent/sell/deliver of controlled substance. http://www.nbc-2.com/articles/readarticle.asp?articleid=21382&z=3

  1. Gurl, it means that they have record of them being affiliated with that group.......dee dee dee!.

La Raza gang, not the Latino activist group from way way back in the day that doesn't exist anymore. Remember, that's 25 out of the Millions of illegal immigrants here, so that a small small small percentage.

  2. They are just here for a better life!

They want to help their families!

Once you become a criminal invader no other crimes count!

You should not judge their methods!

Their country is so poor that selling drugs is OK!

12 year olds are legal where he comes from!

I'm sure pro-criminal invaders can come up with a bunch more reasons why these poor people are being racially discriminated against!

Oh I forgot CRIMINAL is not a race!

  3. It doesn't mean National Council of La Raza if that's what you're thinking. There's a La Raza street gang not associated to NCLR.

A documented gang member is a legal KNOWN gang member and undocumented gang member has 2 meanings, either they're new and not on paper with authorities yet or an illegal immigrant.
