  1. Your luteal phase begins the day after you ovulate and ends the day before your next period starts.  It's also known as the two-week wait.

    Good luck.

  2. luteal phase is the time between ovulation and start of your next period

  3. Your luteal phase is the the time between ovulation and the day before your next period. The luteal phase is the time during which a fertilized egg would travel and then implant into your uterus. It should ideally be at least 10 days long to support a healthy pregnancy - if it is too short, the egg will not have time to travel and implant properly. The average length of a woman's luteal phase is 14 days, but it can vary.

If you do have an "average" 14 day luteal phase, in your 31 day cycle, then you would probably ovulate on about day 16-17. But again, this can vary and there is no way to really know for sure. To find out when you ovulate, you could use an Ovulation Prediction Kit or chart your Basal Body Temp - but just guessing is not necessarily accurate.

The length of your period has nothing to do with the luteal phase.
