We are moving in August 2008 and need a place to stay until we find a suite or apartment for longer-term. Hostels or backpackers' inns would be preferred that are in central areas..

Thx!

  1. I know the Red Lion Inn is fairly nice, although the rooms are a little small, and it's very close to downtown.

    It's about 800 a month I believe.

  2. I'm lol-ing at you thinking there is a cheap place to stay in Victoria.  Most hotels and hostels do not have monthly rates in the summer (an earlier posted mentioned the Red Lion - they only have monthly rates in the winter).  So you will be looking at paying on a nightly basis.  Rates in Victoria for hotels in the summer range $69.00 - $1500.00 per night.  The cheapest but not horribly nicest would be the Travellers Inn.  They are located downtown.  As for hostels, The backpackers Inn downtown is probably the cheapest ranging from $20/night (for dorm like accomocatioms) or $45/night for a private room.  Hope this helps.

  3. I have this link for the "Backpackers Inn" which is right downtown. Their website also has links too other hostels also. If this helps my I have "Best Answer" Please?

    Good luck
