  1. Get a deck or two of cards.

One person has to be the dealer.  The dealer deals everybody else two cards face up, the dealer gets one card face down one up.

Then everybody tries to draw as close to 21 without going over.  If they go bust they lose.

Then the dealer draws.  The dealer will have to stay on 17 or better, if the dealer busts then everybody that didn't bust earlier wins.

At the start of the hand if the dealer has an Ace showing he'll offer everybody insurance against a 21.  Basically they can match their bet, if the dealer has 21 they get paid, if the dealer doesn't have 21 they lose their bet they just matched and then play the hand out.

Also if a dealer has 21 in the hole everybody loses.  If a player is dealt 21 in their first 2 cards they get 1.5 times their bet.

Anytime the player and dealer end up with the same amount it's a push.

  2. The game is really simple:

You have a dealer and everyone is basically playing against the dealer.   You can rotate dealers after you finish dealing a full deck of cards.

The object of the game is to get your cards to add up close to or at 21 without going over.  Face cards are valued at 10.  An Ace can be 11 or 1 which every benefits the player better.  If you get an Ace and a ten that is called "Black Jack".  "Black Jack" is the best hand and no one can beat that.  In a friendly game, the dealer does not win ties.  You win if you cards total higher than the dealer.  If you are playing for money (small coins I hope) and you and the dealer both get "black jack" than you get to keep you money.  Always place your bets out in front of you before each deal.

    Value of Cards

    --------------------------------------...

    Ace - 11 or 1

    King, Queen, Jack -10

And your other cards are valued as the face value:

    10, 9 , 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2.

Black Jack:  11 (Ace) + 10 (King or Queen or Jack or 10) =  21.

To start the game, each person is dealt only two cards.  The dealer usually starts the deal with the person on his left side.  Also, that is the first person to ask for a card or not. Going clockwise around the table, each person can either take a card from the dealer by saying "hit".  The dealer will give that person one card - showing everyone the card.   Or the person can say "stick". When the person says stick the dealer moves onto the next player.  Remember, if the value of a person's cards goes over 21, they lose and are out of the the game for that deal.   The dealer is the last person to take cards.  He flips his cards over showing the remain players his cards.  The dealer decides whether to take a "hit" or "stick" with cards they were dealt.   Once the dealer says "stick" or "stay", the dealer flips his cards over, comparing the value of his cards to each player's cards.  The dealer pays out money to the people that have a higher total value of cards then him.  The players that have a lower value of cards then the dealer, give the dealer their money that is out in front of them.  So if the dealer has 18, he pays money to players that have 19, 20 or 21.  Players push their money to the dealer if they have 17 or less.   Dealer does not win ties - it is called a "push".

Good luck and have fun !!!
