Can somebody tell me what this book is called ????please help ??????

i remember reading this book but i dont remember the title or who wrote it ?????

it has a red cover and a black poodle on the front thats upside down

and its about a boy who has autism (i think i cant remember ) and its told from his point of veiw and somebodys dog (i think it was the neighbors)and somebody killed it with a pitch fork

and the boy goes around asking ppl questions to try to find out who did it

and i think maybe they thot he did it but he didnt

i never finished reading it i only got half way through it

but if anybody knows the title of this book i would really apreciate it
