Can somebody try and give me a good reason as to why Kobe is not the best player in the NBA?

Question

It's simple. Name the player and back it up. I saw a question earlier comparing Dwyane Wade and Kobe Bryant, and it was disappointing to see the answers to it. Kinda like only a few people answering the questions actually had any knowledge of the game and others didn't have a clue but just wanted to answer for whatever reason.

Anyway... For anybody that is going to say LeBron, which is the only possible debate (but he still loses). Just no. Anything LeBron can do on offense, Kobe can do just as well if not better when you factor in his outside shooting ability. Stats may show LeBron is better, but look at the people surrounding him, I mean who else is going to shoot other than LeBron? And on defense, not even close. Kobe is first team all NBA, and LeBron, well, isn't. Although he is improved.

Well, Kobe is the best player in the NBA. He stays healthy, doesn't waste stamina, and he makes his team better. He has mastered the fundamentals, which Wade and LeBron have yet to do. Mastering the fundamentals allow him to be a great defender, shooter, passer, and he knows how to pick his shots. Though I do sense that whenever his teammates don't pass him the ball in a while, he hogs it.

Wade is the next best player, but he doesn't stay healthy and he wastes so much stamina.  He is a better leader than LeBron though. He hogs the ball, but when he attacks the rim it is entertainment. I'm a fan so I kinda prefer that he hogs the ball.

LeBron is a good shot blocker, but he isn't as good as defending as Kobe is.  Hogs the ball to a point that his teammates have a weak FG%. He doesn't makes him team better. He has the childish attitude that affects his leadership. He plays like "Hey, I want that highlight. I ain't passing to you for an alley oop."

LOVE your question. Finally someone who  posts a question about kobe and why he is not the best and wants only smart, proven answers. I totally agree with you. People basically just say anything and can't back themselves up. Most people who answer questions regarding Kobe are just HWS[ Haters Without Support].Clearly Kobe is the best player in the NBA, and people just don't want to accept that. I am a fan but, people, you don't have to be a fan to admit that he is the best player in the NBA. If you had knowledge of the games and not just watch it from now and then, and actually try to not to be bias and really pay attention you could see that. Kobe did a great job of taking his team to the finals and his polished offense is outstanding.And the list goes on!!!

hes not the best because he doesnt play the most important position. if he played the impact position rather  then i would say yes. sf/sg has a lot of very good players but if im in a fantasy draft i dont take kobe because hes not the best player to start a franchise around. my number one pick would be amare stoudemire, hes young, hes athletic, hes a great defender, hes a great scorer, hes tough to defend, he plays one of the thinnest positions in the nba, and hes taller than kobe lol. but yeah amares sick

YES these guys were on good teams BUT when they needed to elevate THEIR game to CARRY their team - THEY DID

in my opinion kb is the best right now.h**l, he's been in the league since 96' and is in the prime of his career. he can do just about anything offensively...defensively he can lock his opponent down (being nit-picky but hes gotta constantly defend instead of just choosing his spots)...has a great will to win...has learned to trust his teammates (even though some are still soft like pau) and fights thru injuries.

people usually base other player being better than he is by putting up stats game performances...or by saying so and so is 'the best player in the world right now'.

its all opinion.

however in a couple/few  years...a couple other players could/should make an even stronger case for being the best and not just by their stats.

Well, Kobe is the best, but I will take a shot at what I think people will say. He was accused of rape. He didn't get along with Shaq and some other teammates. He's not Jordan.

People give 0 reasons as to why he is not the best player. They all use reasons such as he was accused of rape, absolutely nothing to do with basketball. People can't give good reasons because there are no good reasons. If there is one player in the NBA that could surpass Kobe it is LeBron James, but not now, and I don't see it happening.

it's simple, put the same players around Kobe and LeBron and I'll GUARANTEE that LeBron will win every time... the dude is a freak of nature, and makes Kobe look like a teenager by comparison... while guys respect Kobe, they are SCARED of LeBron...

it's really no comparison, although the whole world seems to think Kobe is somehow better...

You are right the only real debate right now is between Lebron and Kobe the others that people try to come up with are just disrespectful to them and not even close!! Kobe has the best offensive skills when it comes to long rang and jump shots Lebron has the best offensive skills when it comes to dunking and driving in. They are different styles but still both are very good. Offense is pretty much tied so you look at assist: This is not Kobe's forte (I don't care if your the biggest Kobe/Lakers fan ever if you watch him you gotta admit its true), Lebron however is exceptionally well at this and nearly averaged 8 assist (listen to the announcers talk about his amazing passing skills in the olympics). Lebron seems to win that case then look at rebounding because of his size and strength he beats Kobe again at this match up. Then look at steals: both are very very good at this but once again stats show LBJ beats Kobe again at this. Then we look at blocks because of his size and strength again he beats Kobe. Leadership skills is strictly opinion because no one is behind the scenes watching and listening to them but in my opinion it is Lebron he is incredible and very nice.

Kobe can arguably be called the best offensive player but as you can see Lebron James is the best all around player

EDIT: I know I had a lot of Stats but they are just the first thing that came to mind!! Give me some other catagories to base it off of. Can you give me somethin that backs why Kobe is the greatest I honestly want to know I'm not trying to be dumb or anything!!! All I ever hear from people who think he's the best is cause he is or its just the greatest or if you just watch you'll see. Well I don't see and I've never heard a real argument. Please can you tell
