Can somebody with experience tell me if belly button piercing hurts

i got mine done at the begining of the year and i was really scared because people had told me that it was going to hurt really bad and my mum was trying to put me off but im sure i freaked out over the pen more than the acual needle.
the clamp sort or hurts but the needle doesn't, well thats what i thought anyway
