Because I'm interested in studying in England and the entrance requirements are really complicated in my opinion, I can't understand what shall I do from here to try entering, starting from the A-levels!

Thank you very much.

  1. A levels are exams sat by 18-year-olds in England and the grades determine whether they will get into University and whether it will be the one of their choice.

UK universities offer entrance to EU students based on their home country qualifications.

  2. They're like proper exams only a lot easier to pass.

  3. ok well here in England, We study A-Levels in College.

there just tests at the end of your time atn college

  4. right,

you have your GCSE's? i'm gonna guess you know what your doing with these.

once you get your GCSE results you then go on to college to study AS levels, you study four AS levels.

    Entry requirements:

I don't know about England, but in Wales Its five GCSEs at C grade or above for entry requirement,

however, for AS level courses mostly you need a B or above, EG, you wouldn't be able to studly biology at AS level with a C at GCSE.

after you choose your four AS levels, you study them for a year, and the end of the year, you take exams, and then drop one of your four, to take three on for A-level. A-levels are studied in your last year of college..

you could also take a B-tec, which is equivilant to Three AS/Alevels, and is studied for two years.

  5. A Levels are the exams you take when you are in your last years of school, and are the exams which matter if you want to get into certain universities.

In your second to last year at school (Year 12) you do exams called AS Levels which count for exactly half of your A Level.

In the last year (Year 13) you do your A2 Level exams which count as the 2nd half of the total A-Level.

  6. After for 4 years of high school, they take "O" Levels (Ordinary).  If they pass, they do 2 more years of schooling, and take their "A" Levels (Advanced).  It's kind of like the six years of junior high and high school here in the US.

  7. well to start a levels you need G.C.S.E's or equivalent. a level is the second level of qualification, after a level you can do a degree.

  8. After high school - GCSEs, you have the option to go to college and study the next step - a levels

  9. 1) A-Levels are made up of AS and A2, both make an A-Level. You generally take 3 - 4 when you're 16-18. Some people take more or less though in certain circumstances but usually at least 3 at C grade are needed to enter university (though some require up to 4 at A*).

    2) To take A-Levels you'd usually need 5 GCSEs at C grade, or equivilent, but it's negociable with the school or college sometimes. It might be difficult to do this coming from another country since not all countries do exams at age 16 to get an equivilent.

  10. A-levels are what you need to enter university, and typically you would study 3 (although you can do more, I'm doing 4 at the moment), at age 16-18 (Sixth Form at school). You can do any 3 subjects you like but certain courses at university want certain grades in certain subjects.

A-levels are split into AS levels and A2 levels, and if you have completed both in one subject, then you are considered to have the full A-Level. Usually you do AS levels in your first year of sixth form, and continue in your best subjects to A2 in the second year.

A-levels are graded from A-E, A being the best, and an E the worst. These grades are all passes. There is only one other grade, which is a U (ungraded), which means you fail.

Hope this helps, I've tried to make it as short and simple as possible! Remember universities will also accept qualifications other than A-levels if you are a foreign student.
