Question:

Can someone ask for a refund on ebay after giving you positive feedback?

I purchased a dress from an ebay seller. I discovered problems with the dress. It was not listed with a refund. My invoice with shipping included was $36. However after contacting the seller, she offered a partial refund for $31.

I replied that it would not cover the shipping cost. Therefore a refund of $31 is unreasonable. She replies:

"If you are that terrible unhappy with the dress, return it and I will refund your 31.00 but I will be altering my positive feedback."

She already left me positive feedback. Could she alter it? I did not leave feedback yet. What would you do?

  1. It depends.  What is wrong with the dress?

  2. She has made an offer to take back the dress even though her terms say she does not have to.

She has the right to discount becasue the auction cost her money and she should get that back, since it was listed AS IS.  That is the problem with no refund auctions.

You have 2 choices.  Send back the dress under her terms, less money and a change in feedback.

    OR

Keep the dress.  But you don't have the right to complain because she did follow the options set down in her auction.  eBay would back her if you complain.
