Can someone be able to read and still be dyslexic?

My friend is like that. She is dyslexic but she can read.

  1. I'm dyslexic. It was hard for me to learn how to read but I did it .for your friend to read, she will have to want to read.It will take a lot of hard work but don't let your friend quit .Nothing is ever impossible .It just depend on there determination .

    Yes, dyslexic people often have a hard time learning to read, and tend to find it more difficult than average once they can read, but they CAN read.

    One person I knew, for example, could not read quickly due to her dyslexia, but said that she retained what she read very well.

Sure, many people with dyslexia read and enjoy it very much.  Dyslexia is a general word that covers a wide range of disabilities... some of those disabilities are so severe that a person who can read chooses not to.  In most cases, the disability can be bothersome, but techniques can be learned to cope.  The most dyslexic student I ever had loved to read... but her brain received information different than most: everything she saw was upside down!  She easily learned how to compensate for this... she simply turned her books upside down to read them!
