Can someone be arrested for this?

Question

If I kick an animal to death in the street, can I be arrested for it?

E.g. a bird. I'm talking about non-protected species here (unlike swans for example). Obviously pets like cats and dogs don't count (unless they're strays in which case they're fair game). Does it count as disturbing the peace/ vandalism?

You gotta be kidding.  Maybe you need to speak to a psychiatrist if you seriously have these thoughts.  Thoughts such as these may lead to further desires which you may not be able to control.

We should be seeking peace and harmony with each other as well as with nature.  God has allowed us to be superior over animals to utilize them for food and warmth but not to brutalize them for some bizarre thought process.  They should not be made to suffer or used in any immoral activity.

Also to answer your question...yes you can and would be arrested for such activity.

Further thoughts:

OK, you were bored?  What if your next door neighbor is bored and decides to kick you up and down the street...is he going to be arrested?  Animal cruelty is a crime so you should find better things to do with your time.  Is there something more you could be doing for your community to clean the streets than kicking an animal?  

If you are so bored with your life then maybe you need to take a look at yourself.  Are you content with your life?  Does someone or something make you upset so you wish to punish an animal?  Are you upset with certain situations in your life?

You are the "master" of your "body" and your "emotions".  If someone is controlling your thought processes, you need to pray for courage to get out of that situation.  Nothing is worth your "freedom" either from jail or from emotional/physical abuse.  There are resources and people out there who will help you...you only need to ask.

Otherwise, maybe you need to relieve tension...find a sport;  ride a motorcycle, run, play basketball, baseball or whatever sport you like.  I truly think you have vent up energy which you must "kick" out of yourself!

I believe you are "absolutely" a good person...you only made bad decisions!  Change your attitude, forget about the past and make a better tomorrow!

While I agree with Theodore's answer I am going to be a little more subtle. It's called Animal Cruelty and can be accompanied by pretty serious charges.

If you are feeling these compulsions to kick and kill animals, maybe you should talk to someone you trust about it.
