  1. Any place you travel now OUTSIDE the USA YOU must have a PASSPORT

    THAT IS IT!!!

  2. What it is saying is that as of January 2007 to travel by air you must have a valid passport or approved travel documents (items of equivelance to passports).  I can't say for sure what Mexico's requirements are but the US requires you to carry your passport to re-enter the US.  If I am reading correctly, there is not quite as many restrictions if travelling by land, but in this day and age if you expect travel to come up at any time in your foreseeable future, I'd always have a valid passport handy!

  3. The link you have provided is the correct information.  You do not need a passport unless you decide to fly into Mexico.

The passport deadline hasn't been determined yet.  Having your drivers license or some other form of governement issued I.D. is required now.  Come January 31st, you'll need your birth certificate to go along with your government issued I.D.

Once again, let me say it, you DO NOT need a passport right now to travel to Mexico UNLESS you intend to fly.

If you plan on driving into Mexico, please read the answer I gave to a question regarding the requirements of vehicles entering and leaving Mexico.  http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?...

  4. Ok if you're driving you can go in without a passport (for now) Flying they won't even let you got on the plane to Mexico without a passport.
