I might be working for Vector Marketing soon, and I need to know if I should stay away. Please tell me, personal experiences, what goes down, what you know.

  1. Welcome to hard work!!!

Vector has been around forever as a door to door knife sales company.  They are a legit company also.  They really do have great products, but you need to ask yourself...do you know anyone that doesn't have a knife?

That is going to be your main objection.  They do have some excellent products, so you have to be good enough to be able to show them to people.  If they will listen, they will buy.  The good news, is since they have been around for so long, they will tell you every single thing you have to say, do, and react in order to be successful.  As long as you follow their system step by step, and are teachable, you can do well.

Yes, you will work very hard, but yes, you can be successful.  Keep in mind that door to door selling is just the Law of Averages.  The more people you show it to, the more people that will buy.  You just have to keep your emotions in check, realize they are only saying no to the product, and keep going until you find the buyers.  That's it.

I went through all of their interviews and learned a ton about them.  I ended up working for the Southwestern company selling books door to door.  Yes, everyone has books too, but I paid my way through college and did it 14 hours a day for 6 days a week during the summer....and did it for 5 years.  It may not be fun at the time, but looking back, I can attribute most of my jobs and successes back to my time selling door to door.

  2. Former Vector employee here and trust me it is a scam! Unpaid meetings, unpaid training, constant unpaid events it is better to just get a part time job. You have to pay them to start working. The idea behind the company is for them to scam you and everyone you know and then you quit. Regardless of what anyone tells you it is a scam! I was younger when I started working for this company because now I would not give them a second look if they offered me a job! Person above me more than likely works for the scam part of the company getting all of the benefits.
