Are there any corrections I can make to this small dialogue I wrote in Japanese?

(レストランに)

人1:「えと…あ。ハンバーガーにしますよ。」

人2:「でも、牛が好きじゃないんですか?」

人1:「牛が大好きなのに、ハンバーガーにするんだ。」

  1. I'll try to mark my corrections with asterisks (*).  There's not much though =D

    (レストランで*)

    人1:「ええ*と…あ。ハンバーガーにします。」

    人2:「でも、牛が好きじゃないんですか?」

    人1:「牛が大好きなのに、今*ハンバーガーを食べたい*んです。」

    Explanations:

に is a particle usually to mark the target/destination, or the place of existence.

For the place an action/actions, use で.

"umm" is spelled ええと in Japanese.

よ sounds unnatural in the first sentence here.

I decided to alter the last sentence a little bit, to make it seem more natural, though you can keep with the original if you want.

EDIT: OH I see, I'll change it back.

Maybe to clear up confusion, you can try saying (for person 2):

    でも、牛をかわいそうに思ったってじゃないんですか?

I thought you felt sorry for cows.

  2. I think you should change the last 人1's line.

    「牛が大好きだから、ハンバーガーにするんだ。」

BECAUSE I love beef, I will have a hamburger.

    「牛が大好きなのに、ハンバーガーにするんだ。」meas;

EVEN THOUGH I love beef, I will have a hamburger.

so, it doen't really make sence.
