Can someone describe a 35-70mm lens? (how the picture would look with a 35 vs. a 70)?

I'm wanting to buy a camera and it comes with a 35-70mm lens. I've only ever used a 50 or 60 mm lens before, so that's what would be "normal" for me, I guess. I just want to know if the frame would be wider when using a 35mm and more "zoomed in" while using the 70mm?? Or is it the other way around?

yeah, any information would be helpful :)

  1. A 35-70mm lens gives you everything from 35 to 70mm viewpoints in one handy package.

Here's a link that will let you see the difference in different focal lengths.  Just grab the pointer on the sliding scale and move it along to different numbers.  As you can see, 35-70mm is a fairly short range, approximately 2x.
