  1. Well, if you look up the definition it is an "ornamental recess, usually round, intended for a statue or other decorative object."  So, to "find one's niche" is to find the place intended for them.

    Make sense?

  2. a niche is a group.

  3. every animal has a niche, also called a job. like a bee's job/niche is to spread pollen and grow flowers

  4. The Niche Concept simply put refers to the ideal conditions crucial to an organisms way of life/survival. If dealing with plants, it'll be the ideal temperature range, humidity regimes, essential soil nutrients and amount of light needed for photosynthesis to occur.

  5. In ecology, a niche is a term describing the relational position of a species or population in its ecosystem. The ecological niche describes how an organism or population responds to the distribution of resources and competitors (e. g., by growing when resources are abundant, and predators, parasites and pathogens are scarce) and how it in turn alters those same factors (e.g., limiting access to resources by other organisms, acting as a food source for predators and a consumer of prey

  6. An organisms niche is the role it has evolved to fill.  A woodpecker has evolved to fly around and peck holes in trees to live in, that's it's unique role it fits into that allows it to survive.

It's often than the organism that fills a niche in one part of the world is completely different than what fills the same niche in another part of the world.  Sometimes these different organisms meet or are somehow thrown together, and have to compete with each other for the niche.  What happens then is the losing organism will either evolve to fit a new niche, or go extinct.
