  1. If you need to buy an E-Tag from a shop, most milk bars have day passes, and 3 day passes..All you need to do is give the myour regrestration number of your car and they do it by computer,it means you are covered to travel from Melbourne-Geelong and then melbourne-Phillip Island(Sth Gippsland Fwy).....

  2. Like the other poster said you can get to all the paces without going on the toll roads quite easily .

However if you want to use them you can ring City link & get a day pass using a Credit card. you need to give them your registration number while organizing it .

You also have 24 hours after travel on the tollways to pay for the day pass.

While traveling the roads there are sign post with the City link number on it.

  3. Forget ETag!   no need - all of the major highways can be accessed without going on the Eatg sections of the freeways!

They were around well before the freeway etag system was thought of!

The city of Melbourne has a tourist circle tram - i think it s free and you can get on & off as you please includes the QV market.

    Enjoy you stay!

  4. You can get online with Roam and pay for it via credit card, debit card or Bpay.

When we were there last we simply drove through the etags then at the end of the day paid our toll at a service station just outside Melbourne. They had a machine like an ATM that we just stuck our debit card into and paid the toll.

  5. Just keep off the Citylink man ! You can get to all those places without an e:tag. I can't go on it when I go back cos I owe them a small fortune in unpaid tolls !  If you do need one then go to their centre out past the way to Fishermans Bend. Go off Werundjeri Way towards South Melbourne and follow signs for Lorimer Street / Fishermans Bend ( dont get dragged onto the freeway towards Geelong and over the Westgate it's easy done and hard to correct !) its a right awkward place to get to but isn't far from the city as the crow flies. You can almost get to it by tram to the docklands end of Flinders Street then walk. There's a website >>
