  1. On the final day of our Carnival Miracle cruise, at about 5:30 AM, we got an nasty, harrassing phone call from a staff member. I know for a fact it was a staff member because the call came from a kitchen somewhere - I could hear dishes and silverware clinking against metal.

He was telling us to jump ship and keep saying "mother******" over and over. Until his boss walked in, then it he was suddenly nice and was saying "Yes, ma'am".....

We reported the incident to Carnival management, who responded with a form letter with the wrong ship name inserted, and a statement that they were sorry our trip was "marred by other guests" Not true - we never gave our cabin number to anyone.

I called to follow up, giving him the details, and the Carnival rep continued to insist that it was another guest and denied that the staff was responsible.

Later on a cruise review board, I learned that on the same ship there wer eincidents of a staff member running the hallways screaming "FIRE!!!! Everyone jump!!!!!"

Out of hand - yeah, I'd say so.

  2. As for the sickness spreading around.....my mom and aunt went on a cruise last summer.  They adored their waiter until they watched him sneeze in his hand then proceed to wipe that hand up his nose.  Without a thought, he picked up more clean silverware and placed them on the table off to the side them.  They were not so impressed with their favorite waiter after that.  They were both feeling kind of ill when they returned home.  Not only did they bring home souvenirs and pictures of the cruise to share, they also brought home a cruise virus that 9 of us in the family contracted within a day or two.  That was by far the worst I have ever felt in my life!

  3. Are you referring to things getting a little crazy? Basically, Carnival is known as the fun ship, for many reasons. Because Carnival is less expensive than the other cruise lines, they attract a lot of different people. From young college kids, to families and lots of children, to some pretty wild and crazy people. Combining this can lead to some pretty crazy things happening. Drinking and partying is a big thing for Carnival and a lot of the people on the ship can be pretty drunk, making them a little more crazy.

Cruising in general can bring the craziness out in people, relaxing, being on vacation, having freedom, drinks, the water, etc. In my experience Carnival has always been a little more wild onboard than the other lines. Some of the activities they offer are even a little questionable, in my opinion.

Sometimes Carnival is just one big party ship, a lot of people describe it like Las Vegas, lots of partying, drinking and gambling.

    Hope this answers your question!

  4. I assume your refering to a lot of illnesses. A lot of people on the same boat breathing the same air, they have A/C. Viruses win.
