Can someone explain Occam's Razor to me?

  1. Occam's Razor is a principle that sets out to eliminate any unnecessary theory. The best way I can think to explain it is, if all of the competing ideas are equal, it is best to choose the simplest solution.


  2. Funny, but the explanation for Occam's Razor is basically the principle of Occam's Razor.

    "The Simplest Solution Is The Best, If All Other Things Are Equal"

    Basically, instead of making many assumptions and theories, the simplest is most likely the right one.
