  1. you were in medical shock and could have died of it , lucky to survive ,

  2. I'm quite surprised your Dr didn't explain this to you better. What he meant was that your blood pressure was very low. I do hope you've now fully recovered.

Blood pressure consists of two readings, a systolic & diastolic measurement. Systolic is the pressure emitted by your heart on your artery walls when your heart is contracting (beating). Diastolic is the pressure emitted when your heart is relaxed & refilling with blood.

Blood pressure is displayed as systolic/diastolic, e.g.120/80. Blood pressure is measured in milimetres of mercury (mmHg). The numbers represent how many milimetres the pressure exerted would push the mercury up a tube.

Blood pressure is a vital sign used by doctors to detect underlying health issues by comparing patients readings to the normal values.

If you want an explanation of the  actual procedure doctors used to take blood pressure, feel free to ask but I didn't think this was in your question

  3. it means it was very low.

Blood pressure is a measure of how hard the blood pushes against the walls of your arteries as it moves through your body. It’s normal for blood pressure to go up and down throughout the day,

When blood pressure is high, it starts to damage the blood vessels, heart, and kidneys. This can lead to heart attack, stroke, and other problems. High blood pressure is called a "silent killer,'' because it doesn't usually cause symptoms while it is causing this damage.

Your blood pressure consists of two numbers: systolic and diastolic. Someone with a systolic pressure of 120 and a diastolic pressure of 80 has a blood pressure of 120/80, or "120 over 80."

The systolic number shows how hard the blood pushes when the heart is pumping.

The diastolic number shows how hard the blood pushes between heartbeats, when the heart is relaxed and filling with blood.

Adults should have a blood pressure of less than 120/80. High blood pressure is 140/90 or higher. Many people fall into the category in between, called prehypertension. People with prehypertension need to make lifestyle changes to bring the blood pressure down and help prevent or delay high blood pressure.

Low blood pressure can be dangerous when the drop in pressure occurs suddenly. Certain symptoms can also be a cause for concern when they accompany the drop. The following symptoms are often associated with low blood pressure:

    Blurred vision

    Nausea

    Depression

    Inability to focus or concentrate

    Constant fatigue

    Fainting

    Lightheadedness

    Dizziness

    Cold, clammy, pale skin

What can lead to low blood pressure?

    Being dehydrated

    Getting pregnant

    Taking certain medications

    Deficiencies in your diet

    Significant blood loss

    Heart or endocrine problems

    What treatment options are available?

Treatment options vary greatly, depending on the cause of the low blood pressure. For example, you may need to make some simple diet changes or alter some of the medication you take.
