Can someone explain how the english works in yahoo pool?

HIT THE BOTTOM OF THE CUE BALL TO s***w BACK

THE TOP FOR TOP SPIN

left hand side -off the cushion-the ball will go left

right hand side-will go right

if you put bottom left hand side on the cue ball-s***w back+hit a cushion-the ball will go???-in reverse-so it will leave the cushion on THE RIGHT!

to stun hit slightly under dead centre of the cue ball.to stun run slightly over the dead centre-above it.

English is hitting the ball off center to add spin. You can then use that spin to affect where the cue ball ends up after you have made your shot. This helps set you up for your next shot or keeps your opponent from getting a good shot.

Put the english on the spot of the cue that is in the direction you want it to go. eg., if you want it to go to forward right, put it top right on the cue ball. That's the basic idea, practice will make you get a better hang of it.
