  1. Conjoined twins

Why, what did you think?  Satan's little helpers?

  2. It happens all the time, do you live in a cave?

They are identical twins that didn't separate correctly.  Just another of many birth defects.

  3. It says in the story, ONE embryo, developmental abnormality.

  4. Isn't it interesting how this child gets us all to think? Some say it is proof that God does not exist.  Some see it as disturbing.  Others see it as life.  Do you believe this is a disproof of God's goodness?  If this is so, do you believe all abnormalities are proof as well?  We live in a fallen world according to the Bible.  Some of us are spiritually abnormal and some are physically abnormal.  I would much rather be physically abnormal.  I am freaked out more by the statements that go on in this forum than I am of this picture.

  5. Well, as I'm not a specialists in that field of science, I have to say that I suspect there are few here who can.

Why not post your question in a medically-related online blog, whereby I'm sure you will find a more technical-response.

To imagine that anyone here could answer this question with any degree of accuracy, is, well, far out.....

  6. Yes.

It occurs when cell differentiation does not proceed as normal.

Instead of cell specialisation proceeding from a single node that would normally become the head, differentiation fails to prevent creation of a second node. Thereafter cellular differentiation proceeds as normal.

What is amazing is that this does not happen more often. It requires a level of precision in biological mechanisms that is unmatched in any man made systems.
