Can someone explain in detail how to put an AVI file on a dvd and then be able to play it in a DVD player?

I have the NTI dvd and cd maker 7 and can't figure out how to get it to be able to play

If you have a dvd writer, then you can use nero smart burner to create a DVD. and be able to play it in your player

i always use cucusoft avi to dvd burner, It enables you to convert and burn any video file directly to VCD, DVD, SVCD, MPEG1 and MPEG2 format. Embedded "VCD/DVD/SVCD Video Burner Engine" is integrated.it's not free, but it works pretty well, I think it well worth the money, If you need more info, here you can free download it
