Alls I know is that it has something to do with stepping over the baseline before the serve is hit by your opponent

  1. well ur right a foot fault is wen ur serving and u step over the base line a double fault is wen u commit to faults in a row and there by the other player will serve

  2. The previous answers are almost correct.

A foot fault occurs when a player is over the base line when he strikes the ball for a service and his foot touches the ground. He can be over the base line as long as he is above the ground. Notice how when they service that they are virtually airborne and can be almost a 12 inches inside the court.

A double fault is when either the player foot faults twice or sends the ball outside the service square on the other side of the net, twice or a combination of both.

I have been playing tennis for 50 years now.

  3. When a player is about to serve both feet should not be over the line, if they accidentally put their foot over this line it is called a foot fault.

  4. "Foot fault" is the mistake you made when you serve- you step over the baseline or touch the baseline before you make a contact with a ball..........

"Double fault" is occured when you cant hit it into the service box twice.

  5. Foot fault: This is when a player steps over the base line when serving. This must be before coming in contact with the tennis ball.

Double Fault: This is when a player makes two consecutive faults. They can be foot faults, normal faults or a combination of both.

(A normal fault is when the server hits the ball either into the net or outside the lines of the service box).

    Hope this helps =]
