Ok, so msn is my homepage and I usually never use any of the features, I usually just scan the headlines and if it really interests me I'll take a look. For the past 2 months there's always been something new each day about Brett Favre. I know he retired, but what's going on? Why is it such a big deal? I can’t stand it anymore so I’d like to know what’s going on.

  1. Brett retired back in march, he then decided he wanted to play again, Green Bay wouldn't let him come back , then they decided he could come back but not be the starting QB, then they decided that they would have an open QB competition between him and aaron rodgers, then again they decided that rodgers was their starter and favre was their backup, favre decided he wants to play somewhere else and gets traded to the N.Y. Jets last night. Likely that Brett Favre will be the starter in N.Y.

  2. ok first its a big deal because Brett Favre is arguably the greatest quarterback in NFL history, he has like every record a quarterback can get

almost.  Plus he's 38 but playing like he's 28.  It all started in March when Brett Favre said he was going to retire. He go all emotional and cried and what not.  The fans were devastated and everyone was confused because he had such a great year last year.  Then recently as months passed Brett Favre claimed that he had an "Itch" to play again and thats when it began.  Brett Favre later on said he wanted to come back to the NFL and he was guilty for retiring early.  He wanted to get signed or traded to the Vikings which is a team thats in the same division as the Packers. But the Packers didn't want to bring Brett Favre back because they had a young QB Aaron Rodgers who the Packers think has great potential and they're thinking about their long term future.  Brett Favre then said well trade me then if you dont want me.  But the Packers didn't want to play him or give him to another team because Brett Favre was clearly a great player still.  Finally the Packers and Favre got together and said we should party ways it would be best for both sides.  So there were rumors of Favre going to the Vikings, Bears, Redskins, Buccaneers, and the Jets.  The Packers wanted to trade Favre to a team out of their conference so they chose the Jets. The only of those teams mentioned in the AFC. They worked it out late last night and Brett Favre was traded to the Jets for a condition draft pick.

  3. Basically Bret retired, then decided he didnt want to, and went back for one more season with the Green Bay Packers. At the end of last season he made it clear that it was his final season, and that he would not be returning to the NFL. Then he decided (sigh) that he wanted to come back again, and the Packers had had enough of his games, so they put him up for a trade, and the New York Jets took him for two years at most.

  4. I know the constant attention on Brett Favre is annoying.

This is because it's off-season for football and basketball, so only baseball is going on.  So they have nothing else to talk about.

    Here's how it went down:

*After the season Brett officially retired as a football player

*The Green Bay Packers (his former team) made moves in the off-season in the direction of not having Favre as their Quarter Back

*Brett decided he wanted to play again

*Green Bay already moving in the direction without Favre said it was too late

*Favre became a drama-queen and started to talk some smack against the packers and made a formal appeal to get re-instated as a football player

*Green Bay already had a contract in place with Favre before he retired, this means, that Brett has no decision on what happens to him, Green Bay does

*After all the back and forth, they both agreed to trade him to the Jets so he can still play football

In conclusion, Green Bay did something they didn't have to by trading him.  They could of just benched him all year, but made him and other fans upset.  And Favre got what he wanted, sort of.  To play football again, but not for a team that he really wanted to.

  5. its long baby girl and boring

u should try to go to espn.com

    or watch espnews

all that happen is that he got traded for a conditional 4th round draft pick to the New York Jets

  6. Short version:

He retired. Then decided he wanted to come back and play after the team had already made its decision to go on without him.  Neither side was budging on their decision. So alot of drama ensued.

Wanna read my feelings on it

  7. First of all, brett thought he wanted to retire, but he loved the game too much and came back. Its a big deal because Brett Farve is arguably of the top 5 quarterbacks of all time with a huge fan group.

    This is the story:

He retired, decided he wanted to come back. The problem was that Green Bay already molded their offense around Aaron Rodgers. Green Bay tried to get rid of him, but Farve was determined. Green Bay allowed him to come back but there would be no competition for the quarterback position. Farve would be backup even if it was going to be his best season ever. Farve wasnt content. Then Farve tried to get traded to another team in Green Bay's conference(probably so that the chances were that they wouldnt play) Meanwhile... Jets need a quarterback. At around 8:00 yesterday, he was traded to the jets.

  8. Well, back in March Brett Favre :P was all sad and crying when he decided he would retire from the Green Bay Packer organization, and start spending time with his wife and children. A few months later there was reports that Favre had the itch to come back and play again. Again it was just a report at the time. Well a report turned into a news article, and a news article turned into the real thing. Favre wanted to come back and play football right before the Packers training camp began. That is where it all started. Then Favre had several meetings with Mark Murphy the Packers general manager, and the Packers offered him 25 million $ to stay retired. The Packersbasicly were saying they did not want Favre back on their team. So this back and fourth interviewing went on for days until finally last night the Packers traded Favre to the New York Jets for a draft pick. Originally its a 4th round pick. If the Jets make the playoffs the Packers get a 3rd round pick. If the Jets make the Superbowl, the Packers get a 2nd round pick, and If the Jets win the Superbowl, the Packers get a 1st round pick. Thats just about the true whole story If you were wondering. : )
