Can someone explain the different catagories of airport ie, B, C, D etc?

I am reading a flight trainig mag and an article spoke about different catagories of airport. How does each one become catagorised? I should perhaps add that the mag was bought in the states

The A, B, C, D, etc. categories usually are in reference to airspace, not airports.  It would take too long to type an explanation of all of them, but here is an adequate link:
