The asker is requesting the diff.. between the types of dirbikes. Speed triple & GSXR600 are the bikes he has ridden & looking for a dirkbike that can be used as a dual bike... Maybe he should have entered those names in the additional details section to be more clear.

Any dirtbike without headlights are not street legal.

Yamaha's  XT250,TW200 Honda's CRF230L, Kawi's KLX250 & some from Suzuki.

None of the motocross are street legal

Some off-road are street legal

dual purposes (or enduro) are all street legal

supermoto like DRZ 400 (from suzuki) -> street legal

motocross is a full race bike. offroad are not racing Dirtbikes, but are used for trail riding. Dualsport bikes are used for riding trail and on road. supermoto is a cross of motocross and superbike racing. you race on a paved surfaces and cross to dirt jumps w/ special tires. you can convert these to road bikes. enduro bikes are MX bikes w/ headlights that are used for racing long periods of time on miles of long trails. offroad,supermoto and enduro bikes are the easiest to convert ot road bike since the have headlights and wiring harnesses.

enduro is used to ways to describe  a bike and a type of track. a track is a indoor track with logs and rocks as obstacals. a enduro bike is one that is street legal as long as u have a licence plate and can ride trails

Motorcross  is a closed course offroad with full line running engine start with gate. 15 minute motos, qualifier, last chance and finals. Groomed, wide open dirt track no trees.

Offroad is more harescramble. closed course but sections of tight woods jumps, logs creeks , trees , schacanes. 2 hours deadengine start groups starts by class.  More tortuse and hare. Arrows on a planned route no road. Racing against like skilled racers. Recommend aluminum style a Hand guards, Steering dampner. Skid Plates, Bike like big knobbies. Low geared. Mud gear. Dry . Hillclimbs, Creek Crossing. Fast rider wins. no breaks 2-3 hours GNCC  or district  Dice run too.

Dualsport Street legal off road mix not a race. planned trail route sheet and arrows. Staggered start. Brush gurads or hand guards, undetermimed time. Fixed length. more relaxed. Big tanks and more tools . Stock gears required. Maps GPS and Water. Mix of on road and offroad fixed course. Boots, helmet, googles.Relaxed offroad gear .

Supermoto Specialised race prep motorcycle street tires  bike brakes kits smaller fenders. More like motocross with mix terrain road dirt and mechancial ramps. Leathers  high speed quick braking jumps. no water no mud. High geared.

Big HP trick gear.

Enduro Timed Closed course sort of cross between Harescrambles and Dualsport. Registered bike Speedo, Odometer , Clock Roll Chart. Ability to do math in your head, follow a roll chart, keep track of time, and ride at the same time. Timed, staged, staggered . 4 riders per time bucket. check points. Rest stops. liason sections.6-8 Hand guards. Boots all weather  Helmets, googles, boots,  gloves, pads. stop and go style. Dirt,water, hills, terrain. Over and under it is time game of chess on wheels.
