  1. energy cannot be created or  lost. It can only change forms.  Electricity turns to heat in a light bulb filament that glows to provide light energy.


  2. Energy cannot be created or destroyed, only changed from one form to another. There are many kinds of energy, but two kinds are kinetic energy and potential energy. Kinetic energy is energy of motion. Potential energy has several forms, but one form is energy of height. If you have a rock in your hand, it has no kinetic energy because it is not moving and it has some potential energy because it is above the ground. If you throw it up, you are using your muscles to give it kinetic energy. It uses that energy to go up, but since being higher means it has more potential energy, it slows down as it goes up, converting kinetic energy into potential energy as it goes. At some point it is so high that its potential energy equals the kinetic energy you originally gave it when you threw it, and it has converted all its kinetic energy to another form so it stops. If there is no hand to hold it there, the potential energy immediately starts changing to kinetic energy again and the rock falls again.

  3. Maybe I'm reading this question different to the others who have answered. To me, the law to conservation of energy is to use the least amount necessary to complete a task. eg. Once a pot on the stove has boiled, turn to low. A pot with it's lid on needs very little energy to keep it boiling. When driving, go easy on the accelerator. Rapid acceleration uses far more fuel than need be. If you wish to conserve water then take a shower instead of a bath. When doing the washing, set the machine to fill to suit the load. Only run the dishwasher when it gets full. Don't run the tap while brushing your teeth.

    That's just a few of many but most conservation is down to plain common sense and plan ahead.

  4. energy is neither created nor destroyed. the example i can think of is the one i learned in the 8th grade. say there's a rock on a cliff. that rock has potential energy, when it's pushed off it translates into kinetic energy. the same amount, none of it is lost, then it is potential energy again

  5. energy is never created or lost... think food...., suns energy into food, you eat food, get energy, give off heat energy, co2 etc, trees/plants use.....cyclic
