Question:

Can someone explain the line in this poem to me?

"And I danced in roses, in promise and beauty,

In mystical havens and burgundy wine

In fancy and freedom and pleasure and romance

In infinite fixtures unchanging with time,

And you gave me splendour and fathoms of favours

and darkest luxuriant perfect desire,

And my love, my darkling, obsessional demon -

I looked in your eyes and they flashed with green fire. "

Does the author mean in a house or a place that hasn't changed? Or does she not mean it literally? If anyone wants to read the rest of the poem, ask me to post a link to it and I will.

  1. I think if we look deeply. It sounds like...

The romance hasn't change. The world hasn't change. Love is still in the air and I love you still, will love you forever.

That's the impact on me! LOL! Beautiful poem by the way! Touching <3
