I think it's called Tumbang Preso where kids would throw their flipflops playing a game, but I'm not really sure how it's played. I couldn't really understand the rules that I found online.

  1. kids take down the tin can by throwing slippers at it. once it's down, the one playing It cannot tag anyone so they all taunt him by running past him and recovering their slippers. once the It has the tin can standing up, he can tag a slow runner who then becomes the it.

the object is to run past the It as many times as you can without ever having to take his place guarding the can

  2. Here are the rules as I know it:

    Items required:

    A small sturdy tin can

An "IT" or "taya" as we call it, to guard the can.

Players with their own flipflops (one piece for each player)

    Game set-up:

The can is placed inside a circle.

A line approx. 5 meters from the can where players can line up to hit the can

    Objective:

From the line, hit the can with your flipflops and make it lie on its side (tumba means to fall) and retrieve your slipper without getting tagged by the IT

    Rules:

    1. The players can retrieve their flipflops and not be tagged only if the can has fallen.

    2. If the can is upright, you are only safe when you reach the line. While in between the can and the line, the IT can tag you to be the new IT.

    3. If a player hits the can and throws it out of the circle but fails to knock it down, he automatically becomes the new it.

    4. If the flipflop falls inside the circle - regardless of whether the can is upright or down, the IT can stamp it with the can and the owner becomes the new IT.

    5. You can throw only from the line and not beyond it (nearer the can)

    Other stuff to consider:

You shall not hit the IT (sometimes we do deliberately!)

Hitting the can can be done one at a time or simultaneously.

    Choosing the first IT:

The players line up in the mark line and throws their slippers forward as if hitting the can. Whoever throws the shortest is the IT.

  3. it would be played by at least 4 or more kids.

one would be the "taya" or  it. he will man the can as the others would start hitting the can using their flip flops.

one by one the kids would have to do the hitting, then run to the other side, right past the "taya" or it to get their slippers/flip flops.

by then the "taya' could run and touch anyone who tries to get past him.

the kids should make it harder for the "taya" to catch them by hitting the can. once the can is hit, the "taya" should let it stand again.

the process goes on until someone gets to be touched by the "taya".
